So many feelings about this one. It's obviously very feels-y by itself, but it also is feels-y knowing the DS9 ending, knowing that Jake does end up losing his dad. Seeing Dax and Kira being more parent-like here and remembering the last scene in DS9 with Kira and Jake staring up at the wormhole. ;_;
- Good for Quark getting his own moon in this timeline, lol. And Morn getting the bar. XD
- Oh yeah, I forgot Jake's wife was Bajoran, or maybe I just never noticed the first time I watched this one?
- Lol, love the old people makeup in this.
- Nog and Jake BFFs for life.
- Ben consistently wanting to just hear updates on Jake's life while Jake consistently just not wanting to say goodbye to his dad. 😠Both of them having to see each other die in this episode 😠My heart is not okay.
- Regarding Ben knowing what Future Jake did for him: You're gonna carry that weight.
- Quark is not in this episode much, but I love him being actually kind of sweet and caring toward Jake here. In fact, I just like how Jake's sadness brings out the parental instincts of everyone on the station. XD
Overall, not a very Quodo episode, but a very emotional episode, one of DS9's best.
Quodo potential:
While Quark and Odo are barely in this episode, I feel like the future timeline setting very much lends itself to AU versions of Quark and Odo living their lives post-canon. You could so easily write about Odo visiting or living with Quark on Future Quark's moon, for example! Or how their lives/timeline would have been affected by the Klingon DS9 handover mentioned in this episode or how they felt about the loss of Sisko, etc. The possibilities are endless!

- I love how mysterious this opening is.
- The Jake/Nog height difference again XD
- And another Ba-JOR, from Old Jake this time.
