Quodo in Every Episode discussion: "Penumbra"
This week we're discussing... episode 7x17 "Penumbra"!
Episode synopsis: The first episode in DS9's 9-part finale. Worf goes missing during a battle with the Dominion, prompting Ezri to go to the Badlands to find him. Meanwhile, Sisko begins making plans for after the war, building a retirement home on Bajor and asking Kasidy to marry him. The Prophets warn him, however, that being with Kasidy will end in sadness. Dukat returns to Cardassia and gets surgery in order to look Bajoran.
What The Boys are up to in this episode: Not much, really -- Quark appears briefly to cheer up Ezri who is worried about Worf. Odo appears even more briefly to question Sisko on why he allowed Ezri to go searching for Worf.

- As meh as I am about Ezri's season 7 romance plotlines, Quark's sweetness toward Ezri is an interesting side of his character.
- Every scene between Weyoun and Damar is gold. I love how much Weyoun bullies him, and Damar day-drinking's due to the stress of being the frontman in a war that he knows is leading his people to doom shows how close he is to a breaking point here.
- One thing I love about DS9 is how it's canon that Dax the symbiont is kind of an impulsive, headstrong, nightmare person.
- Jake and Ben being adorable again... ☺️
Quodo potential:
- Well, they're both on the station and have absolutely no other plotline this episode, so I guess you could just write them one??
- If you wanted to go along with the other stuff happening in this episode, maybe Quark and Odo have a conversation of their own about their post-war plans. Or they get shot down by Dominion ships, crash-land on a planet, and bicker until they sleep together.
Hm I guess that already kind of happened in "The Ascent"...
